E Yoga Teacher Training is journey of self-development and deeper understanding about the practice of yoga and the power it holds to change our lives for the better. It is a pathway of purpose that offers students the opportunity to become teachers. We believe that the best way to deepen our understanding is to teach others what we have learned. We believe that as we work to improve our physical wellbeing, increase our awareness and learn how to harness the life force within us we become powerful agents for positive change in the world.

We teach students how to think critically, see clearly and continue the process of self-discover through the practice of teaching yoga. Rather than learning a set of rules or a series of postures, you will learn a philosophy, a way of understanding so that you can create a meaningful practice that is safe, effective and authentically your own.

We believe that the world doesn’t actually need any more yoga instructors, but the world is desperate for yoga teachers- those who are on a continual path of self-inquiry, transformation and service. When we become yoga teachers we have the potential to change the lives of our students in ways we never could have imagined. And our own lives will inevitably change in ways we never would have dreamed.

The foundations for E Yoga Teacher Training began when I as a student at Arizona State University. While struggling with the divorce of my parents and a debilitating eating disorder, I found the practice of yoga, or more aptly, it found me. Lying on the floor in that first savasana I knew that somehow this would be the pathway from my personal suffering to freedom. I immediately enrolled in a 200-hour teacher training in Arizona. Then spent 6 weeks studying at Sivananda Ashram in India, 3 months living at the Sivananda Yoga Center in San Francisco and 9 months studying with Yoga Arts Teacher Training in Byron Bay, Australia.

In 2006 I co-created a 200-Hour Teacher Training with Yoga Effects in Midtown Manhattan. In 2008 I founded B Yoga NYC, expanding the Teacher Training Program to include 200-Hour, 300-Hour, Prenatal and Therapeutic Trainings.  In 2012 I joined the Yoga Works Teacher Training Staff where I learned so much about alignment principles and anatomy. I was blessed to lead 200-Hour Trainings in New York City and around the world, as well as mentoring and teaching the 300-Hour Professional Program. At the very beginning of the Covid Pandemic, I found myself thrust into co-leading a Yoga Teacher Training online. With the help of amazing co-teachers and adaptable students we created a truly incredible journey of inner and outer transformation for all.

As Yoga Works closed its NYC doors permanently my family took the opportunity to travel to Australia to spend some time with my husband’s family. During this time seeing the need for guidance, structure, inspiration and soul healing in so many people, I felt called to reinvent teacher training in a format that serves both online and in person trainings and students.

With the help of expert teachers such as Yoga Works teacher Lisa Jill Anderson and Brisbane-based teacher Mandy Shearn, E Yoga Teacher Training is now an opportunity and pathway for students from all walks of life and corners of the globe to take the incredible journey of Yoga Teacher Training.

Testimonials:

“Training with Elizabeth and Lisa changed my life for the better. Elizabeth's enchanting pedagogy and deep connection to the mind, body and soul combined with Lisa's expert knowledge of all things related to asana offer the ultimate combination of transformative powers. I feel empowered both in my yoga practice and in spreading the power of yoga to others. Lisa and Elizabeth have transformed not only my body, but my mind and soul through their expert teaching. Through a combination of deep spiritual guidance, anatomy, and sequencing techniques carefully intertwined in their teaching, I feel empowered in my own practice and in teaching others.”

– Joe Fontana, 200-hour Teacher Training Graduate, NYC

“I deeply appreciated being trained by Elizabeth to teach and practice yoga, and can only hope to be half as effective as she is. Her instructions to our training class were precise and focused, but not overly restrictive. Her feedback was clear, clever, loving and inclusive, clearly drawing on and reflecting her extensive and dedicated study of yoga and working with students.”

- Robin Lloyd, 200-Hour Teacher Training Graduate, NYC

"Elizabeth's vast amount of knowledge and experience with yoga will help further your own understanding of the practice.  She has just the right amount of guidance to lead you on the path mixed with the perfect amount of encouragement for you to find your own voice as an aspiring teacher.  I can't thank her enough not only as a mentor but also as a friend."

- John Ford, 300-Hour Teacher Training Graduate and Yoga Works Teacher

“Should you be lucky enough to have Elizabeth as your teacher training you will discover that she is welcoming and warm, knowledgeable, humble, and humorous in all the right moments.  To steal phrase from her, she has mastered the art of “holding space”.  During my 300hr training she served (and continues to serve) as a constant, gentle, reminder that outside of all the alignment, sequencing, philosophy, anatomy, and technical knowledge, the study of Yoga is ultimately the study of our selves.  Holding the space for others to discover and learn about themselves is a particularly special skill and I feel so fortunate to have had Elizabeth as my teacher and mentor during my training, and in the years to come.”

 - Chelsea Levy 300-Hour Teacher Training Graduate and Yoga Works Teacher

“Teacher training with Elizabeth literally changed my life. I went from a casual student who happened to like yoga (a lot) to a lifelong, committed student who now shares her practice with friends and family weekly. Elizabeth's joyful spirit, coupled with her discipline and deep knowledge of the practice, its history, and practical experience as a teacher offered me what I believe to be the most well-rounded, authentic, and truly immersive training. I'll always be her student.”

- Xue Li, Teacher Training Graduate, NYC

“I'm forever grateful I got the chance to train with Elizabeth! She has a deep and lived understanding of all aspects of yoga, far beyond the physicality of the practice. Her ability to pass along knowledge in an approachable way was really game-changing in my quest to further my practice and become a teacher myself.”

- Mary Tiernan, 200hr YTT graduate

“Teacher Training with Elizabeth was one of the best programs I have attended. Not only did we learn all about yoga poses and teaching techniques, but we also dug into the philosophies, which have indeed elevated my experience of Yoga.”

- Jane M, 200hr YTT graduate
